My sister, Amelia (Milly), was taken to Meriter on May 7. She was in the ICU and Victor was her nurse. On Mother's Day, when family members were with her and after the ventilator was removed, Victor asked what she would like. “A hot cup of black coffee,” Milly replied. Dear Victor brewed the best pot of coffee we have ever tasted. He brought cups for the whole family, and we gave Milly a wonderful Mother's Day salute! What an uplifting experience!

Throughout Milly's ordeal, Victor gave her the best care anyone could expect. Because of Victor, Milly believed she could get through this with a “thumbs up” salute that they gave each other every time he entered the room. There were other nurses who gave wonderful care to Milly and we thank them, too. Victor was usually there when I visited, so I got to know him the best. And so, I salute Victor as a great nurse who made a lasting impression on our whole family!
