Dr. Kurtz believes the ideal relationship between patient and physician is based on trust. His patients need to trust his recommendations and he needs to trust they will do all they can to follow his advice. If a patient does not feel comfortable with a recommendation, Dr. Kurtz believes it is essential to have an open discussion about it. He is very thorough and takes the time to talk, and equally important, to listen. He makes sure to address all concerns and works with his patients to determine an appropriate treatment plan together.
Dr. Kurtz enjoys Family Medicine because it provides a diverse mix of patients. He works with all ages and conditions and believes that by living healthy, living in moderation and exercising, you can live “well.” Dr. Kurtz enjoys developing relationships with patients and providing care as they go through different life stages.
His special interests include diet, exercise, weight management, tobacco cessation, diabetes, sports medicine and pain management.
In his free time, Dr. Kurtz enjoys spending time with his family, walking his dog and being active, including running, competing in triathlons, playing volleyball and rugby, cross-country skiing and hiking.
