Three area bands performed a benefit concert last Sunday at the High Noon Saloon to benefit the National Alliance for Mental Illness (NAMI) Dane County. All of the bands in the Rock ‘n Blues concert featured one member who works in the Meriter Hospital Adult Psychiatry unit.
NAMI was founded in Madison and is the nation’s largest grassroots organization dedicated to improving the lives of individuals and families affected by mental illness. NAMI Dane County provides free support meetings, educational meetings, a resource library and newsletter to support people with mental illnesses as well as family members, relatives, friends and mental health providers. They partner with United Way, the criminal justice system, veteran’s groups and schools to provide outreach to diverse groups throughout Dane County.
The Rock ‘n Blues benefit raised $2,000 for NAMI Dane County and more than 100 people attended the event. Thank you for your support! Below are some photos from the event. Follow this link to view a video of The Mudroom, featuring Meriter Psychiatric Hospitalist, Tyler Rickers.
