Meriter-Monona clinic will see patients starting fall 2011
Monona community officials joined Meriter administrators, board members and physicians for a groundbreaking ceremony for the new Meriter clinic in Monona. The clinic will be located on 5.5 acres at Monona’s south-east gateway at the corner of Broadway Avenue and Stoughton Road.
The clinic will provide primary care services for both adults and children. In addition, orthopedics and obstetrics and gynecology physicians will be available for appointments at this site.
“We are in the process of recruiting the physicians for this clinic,” says Robert Turngren, MD, Meriter Medical Group president. “Our plans to have both primary care and specialty providers will enhance the integrated patient-centered care that is at the heart of all we do.”
Plans call for the clinic to open with 5 physicians and their support staff. When fully staffed the clinic will house over 25 physicians and a total of 120 employees.
Kahler Slater is the designer and Tri-North Builders is the contractor on this project. Environmentally friendly building concepts will be used in pursuit of certification under the Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) Green Building Rating System, a prestigious honor for environmentally-friendly construction, offered by the U.S. Green Building Council.
