The weather pages show glaring yellow sun with the simple words VERY HOT for Sunday through Wednesday. The heat index is forecasted in the triple digit temps – as high as 105. The combination of hot temperatures and high humidty combine to create potentially dangerous situations.
To stay safe and cool:
- Drink plenty of fluids,
- Stay in an air-conditioned room,
- Stay out of the sun, and
- Check up on relatives and neighbors – especially people who are elderly or living with chronic health conditions.
Young children and pets should never be left unattended in vehicles under any circumstances – but this is especially true during warm or hot weather when car interiors can reach lethal temperatures in a matter of minutes.
