Committed to the physical and mental health of your child, Meriter Hospital offers a comprehensive program of services for children, from birth to adolescence. Our specialized professional staff offers family-centered care in a friendly atmosphere. We encourage parents to participate in their child's care as much as possible.

Meriter Pediatric Center
The Pediatric Center, located adjacent to the Emergency Department, is an 8-bed unit that centralizes care for children receiving emergency and in-patient services at Meriter Hospital.

Twenty-four hours a day, seven days a week, Meriter pediatric hospitalists will collaborate with a team of emergency physicians, physician assistants and nurses, all of whom are trained to care for children. The pediatric hospitalists are also available to support community pediatricians to ensure the highest quality of care during a child’s emergency visit or hospitalization.

Our team of pediatric hospitalists includes:
Dr. Baumann-Blackmore
Dr. Bencivenga
Dr. Grant
Dr. Lee
Dr. Mason

The Pediatric Center was designed with the family in mind and includes a child-friendly waiting area. Each in-patient room is outfitted with a sleeper-chair, full bathroom and entertainment center in an effort to make an unexpected hospital stay as comfortable as possible.

“My daughter received excellent care. Everyone involved showed competency and appropriate compassion towards her. Every step was explained clearly to me. The doctor and nurses all did their jobs really well. Thank You!”
