Meriter Hospital is proud of its state-of-the-art Oncology Unit, which opened in late 2008. The unit's patient-focused design offers:

• 15 private inpatient rooms, each has a bathroom with a shower and a sleeper sofa for a family member or friend
• An air-flow handling system designed specifically for infection control
• Expanded outpatient treatment area
• More space for family members to be part of the care experience
• Family lounge, resource library and consultation rooms

Meriter Foundation played a major role in financing the $5 million unit. The Foundation's focus was to improve the care environment for cancer patients and their families.

Our physicians collaborate with each patient's primary care physician to provide individualized treatment. In addition, our physicians provide outreach services in Beaver Dam and Monroe. By collaborating with primary care physicians in these areas, we give patients the option of receiving a majority of their care close to home. Research and Clinical Research

       
In an effort to combat and cure cancer and advance scientific knowledge, our center participates in many national research studies. Our physicians are members of ECOG, a national cooperative research group that provides the latest treatment options for people with cancer.
