About the Patient and Family Advisory Council
In our continuing efforts to provide the best care and services to our patients and families, Meriter Health Services launched its first Patient and Family Advisory Council in September of 2013. The council currently has 13 members. Members are patients and family members of patients using the Meriter Health Services system, including Physicians Plus Insurance. They represent a multitude of areas of care and patient demographics.

How Advisors Partner with Meriter Health Services Management and Staff
Meriter Health Services Patient & Family Advisors work with Meriter management and staff to understand our current health care delivery system and provide information on needs and concerns of patients and families. They provide insight on the best ways to make changes to address those needs, assist in the planning of new patient-related programs, provide feedback on the way information is communicated to the public and can serve as a valuable resource for feedback on a wide array of other issues, services and policies.

How to become an advisor
The advisory council is comprised of current patients, family members of patients, and insurance members with support provided by Meriter Health Services staff.

Ideal candidates will be willing to share insight, experiences, and constructive feedback on ways we can improve the way we deliver health care. Time commitment
Council meetings will be held ten times a year for approximately 1 ½ hours (6:00 p.m. – 7:30 p.m.). There may also be research materials or other readings to review between meetings.
