Television
Television service is provided free of charge to our patients and visitors, with channels that include both local and satellite networks. Channel 13 provides relaxation programming and also carries the chapel services. Channels 18 (English) and 21 (Espaņol) provide important infant care information for new parents.
Please ask the nursing staff for instructions on how to use the television set and for a list of channels if one is not posted in your room.
Telephones
Each patient room is equipped with a telephone that is provided for no additional charge (except in Adult Psychiatry, where cordless phones are available at the unit's front desk for patient use). Calls can be made 24 hours a day.
To make a local call: First dial 9, and then dial the telephone number. There is no charge to you for local calls.
To make a long-distance call: First dial 9, then dial 0, followed by the area code and telephone number.
You have several options for placing long-distance calls from hospital phones, and the charges can vary greatly. In general, the least expensive option is the pre-paid calling card (these cards are available for purchase in the hospital lobby across from Guest Services). Before charging a call to your home phone, using a personal calling card or calling collect, we strongly recommend that you ask the operator for the rates.
Incoming calls will be connected to your room between 7 a.m. and 9 p.m. A telecommunications device is available for people with hearing impairments.
