Biomechanical Movement Analysis
Speed, strength, agility and flexibility are considered key
components of staying healthy and succeeding in athletics. However, these
aspects of athletic performance begin with one critical factor -
Biomechanics. Biomechanics is the study of human motion, of how
muscles, bones, tendons and ligaments work together to produce movement.
Athletes often utilize sub-optimal biomechanics, which not only limits them from
performing at their best, but also can result in injury.
It is difficult for an individual athlete to recognize his or her own faulty movement
patterns, but the experts at Meriter Sports Medicine can utilize high-speed
video analysis to closely examine each component of the movement - from cutting,
to jumping, to landing, and more. The Meriter Sports Medicine team then provides
advice to correct faulty movement patterns, as well as an individualized
training program that will allow the athlete to stay healthy and take his or her game
to the next level.
Biomechanical analysis can be performed for virtually any activity or movement
including basketball, soccer, gymnastic and dance.
Cost: $100 for 1 hour session with a physical therapist including:
