Insurance Coverage

Birmingham hip resurfacing was the first hip resurfacing procedure with FDA approval. For this reason, the procedure and services are covered by most commercial insurance companies. Meriter Patient Business staff will work with your insurance company to determine your coverage.

Out-of-Pocket Costs

As with all medical services, the usual copays and deductibles in your insurance policy will apply to hip resurfacing.

The cost of hip resurfacing is no more than traditional total hip replacement surgery. Also, patients will not incur any additional out-of-pocket expenses for HipHab, a rehabilitation stay.

Before your surgery, we will work with you to estimate what you will pay out-of-pocket for the hip resurfacing procedure and your HipHab stay.
