Jodi Bubenzer

Childbirth Educator, Lactation Counselor, Certified Mindful Life Coach

My background in healthcare:
I have been a Certified Childbirth Educator for 10 years, a Lactation Counselor for 4 years and a Certified Doula for 8 years.

Why I am drawn to life coaching:
I was drawn to becoming a life coach in order to continue in my pursuits to help women, couples and families have a rewarding birth and parenting experience. I also like to empower couples in their parenting, as they can change the future of the world. Better parenting creates better parents for the future.

What area I like to focus on during life coaching:
Anything they would like, but my primary focus in on women in childbearing years and family coaching.

Personal notes:
I love living my life on my little piece of heaven, a 35 acre farm outside of New Glarus, with my wonderful husband, Brian, and our 4 sons! I love teaching people about birth and parenting, knitting, gardening, and anything having to do with our sheep – wool, spinning, etc.

Kris Fedenia

Nurse Educator, Certified Life Coach

My background in healthcare:
Labor, delivery, post-partum, lactation, teaching soon-to-be-new parents, and working with families after the arrival of their new baby.

Why I am drawn to life coaching:
I think the process of coaching is so empowering for people, as they're designing how they would like their life to be.

What area I like to focus on during life coaching:
I really enjoy coaching new parents as they transition into families, but am willing to coach in any area.

Personal notes:
I love to travel with my family. Along with my husband, I have three children and a dog. I spend most of my free time watching soccer.

Susan Henderson

PSC/Educator, Certified Renewing Life Facilitator and Certified Life Coach

My background in healthcare:
Program support, Renewing Life facilitation and Education.

Why I am drawn to life coaching:
I enjoy helping others explore ways to live a more authentic and meaningful life, experiencing true happiness and personal fulfillment. I believe that all are blessed with the inner wisdom to guide them to such a place and "guiding mindful change" is an empowering process for moving toward that awareness.

What area I like to focus on during life coaching:
Anyone who is open to exploring the possibilities for positive change in their life is of great interest to me. I have found that small changes add up to significant improvement and great satisfaction, no matter what stage of the journey you may be on.

Personal notes:
I am married with 3 children. I love nature, walking, reading, children, and making music with my family and friends. I founded a non-profit music ministry called "Angelica" and it is certainly one of the greatest joys of my life, creating music to offer as a gift to others.

Lori Hughes

Nurse Educator

My background in healthcare:
Clinical Area – Pediatrics
Community Educator - Birth and Family Services, Certified Car Seat Technician, Certified Life Coach, Support Group Facilitator
Other Career Roles - Staff Nurse, Nurse Manager, Information Systems Coordinator, Quality Improvement Specialist

Why I am drawn to life coaching:
"Aha" moments. Helping people get to "aha" moments draws me to coaching. I'm a nurse; throughout my life I have been passionate about helping and supporting people. As an educator I have learned that telling what to do is not as useful as empowering people to discover for themselves how to move forward or change. Coaching allows me to follow my passion.

What area I like to focus on during life coaching:
Becoming a Parent – I believe it is one of life's richest experiences. Also, finding balance in motherhood.

Personal notes:
I enjoy all aspects of motherhood and family including my husband, son, daughter and extended family. My main hobbies are maintaining rich friendships, crafts, cooking and exercise.

Tish Lafferty

Nurse Educator

My background in healthcare:
I have been practicing in the nursing profession for over 34 years, with an additional background in social work. My education includes being Masters Prepared in Community Health Nursing through UW Madison Nursing School. I have additional certification as a Midlife Educator.

Why I am drawn to life coaching:
I appreciate the need for people to fuel their own growth through self-understanding and personal empowerment.

What area I like to focus on during life coaching:
I have an extensive background in women's issues, as they are particularly related to relationships, health and wellness while moving through the midlife transition.

Personal notes:
I have 4 children, aged 28-15, and a husband who is learning with me how to find joy and meaning in this second half of life. I love laughing with friends, walking with friends, and meeting new friends. I enjoy films, reading, gardening, beginning yoga, and further exploration of doors yet to be opened!

Beth LePine

Nurse Educator

My background in healthcare:
25 years of nursing experience, the last 15 having a strong focus on community health education.

Why I am drawn to life coaching:
Past work allowed for briefly touching the lives of people with an issue related to their health or an interest in improving their health. Coaching allows for more in-depth interaction and the opportunity to see clients through to success in whatever area of their health they wish to work on.

What area I like to focus on during life coaching:
Primary prevention of illness as it relates to diet and exercise. Secondary prevention of illness or living well with illness and preventing complications, with a special interest in breast and prostate cancer.

Personal notes:
I enjoy living on the lake, walks with my husband and dog, and spending time with my grandchildren, cooking and water aerobics.

Kay Maffitt

Nurse Educator

My background in healthcare:
Community health educator for over 13 years. Certified American Heart Association CPR instructor. Meriter CPR Training Center Faculty. Support group facilitator. Certified life coach. Certified parent, youth, and family facilitator; Certified trainer of facilitators. Clinician facilitator. Outreach specialist. Staff RN: Labor, delivery, postpartum, & newborn care. Adult general medicine, pediatrics, inpatient detox. I am also credentialed by Guiding Mindful Change (Certified Mindful Coach) and Strengthening Families Program for Parents and Youth 10-14.

Why I am drawn to life coaching:
Before "life coaching" came into being, its concepts were well established and recognized as effective. For example, the student who is interested in a topic, and has personal guidance, support, and encouragement is the student who excels and masters the topic with confidence. I have always loved learning and teaching. Coaching is that personal support, encouragement, and guidance that help anyone accomplish whatever they set out to accomplish.

What area I like to focus on during life coaching:
Life, that mix of who we are and what we do. I'm eager to work with people who have said, "Someday I want to…" or "I'm going to…" fill in the blank (eat better, exercise, improve parenting skills). Whatever your goal, it will be fun to help you make a difference in your life.

Personal notes:
My husband and I have three children. I enjoy relaxing outdoors, and laughter and humor, especially with my kids and husband. I also like coffee, chocolate, ice cream, really good fruit and exercise.

Liz Nelson

Nurse Educator and Manager, Community Health Education

My background in healthcare:
Bachelor's degree in Community Health Education and Adult Fitness
Nursing experience: Cardiac Intensive Care, Transplant, and High Risk Obstetrics
Teaching Experience: Beginning Fitness, Smoking Cessation, Infant Care, Breastfeeding, CPR, and Freezer Cooking

Why I am drawn to life coaching:
I enjoy working with motivated clients and seeing them overcome obstacles to manage lifestyle changes. Mindful Change Coaching is a respectful partnership that offers a tremendous opportunity for personal success because the individual is the expert of their change experience; I just have the privilege of being their guide.

What area I like to focus on during life coaching:
Work Life Balance and connecting personal values to achieve balance.

Personal notes:
I am married with three children. I enjoy horseback riding, tending sheep, spinning wool and gardening.
