Meriter HomeStretch offers comprehensive care from routine to complicated custom fittings. Our services help patients with physical limitations or medical conditions that require specific prosthetics or aids. Our certified staff performs a thorough evaluation of each patient's condition and needs, and our private consultation rooms ensure privacy.

Our range of services includes:

  • Mastectomy prosthetics
  • Ostomy care and supplies
  • Orthotics
  • Lymphedema management
  • Urological treatments
  • Treatment for vascular conditions

Meriter Home Health works with your insurance provider to handle all billing, and accepts Medicare/Medicaid assignment and most commercial insurance. We also accept cash, VISA, MasterCard and personal checks. For a list of covered providers, please see our Covered Providers section.

Skilled Nursing Services

Meriter Home Health's nurses provide assistance to patients needing skilled or specialized nursing care for the treatment of their medical condition. Our nurses plan, begin and evaluate each patients' nursing care. They manage their progress and refer patients for other services, if necessary. Some common skilled-nursing services are changing dressings, caring for wounds, giving injections and inserting IV's. Our expertise has proven successful in helping patients:

  • Avoid complications
  • Reduce their chances of being re-admitted to the hospital
  • Achieve optimal recovery
Meriter Home Health is a leader in the development of clinic management guidelines. Our care guidelines are designed to provide cost-effective care, while improving patient outcomes and satisfaction. Eligible patients can receive home management programs – using our clinical management guidelines – for the following medical conditions:

  • Total Hip Replacement
  • Total Knee Replacement
  • Congestive Heart Failure
  • Coronary Artery Bypass Graft Surgery
  • Deep Vein Thrombosis
Meriter Home Health has a registered nurse on call 24 hours a day, 7 days per week.

Respiratory Care

Meriter Home Health's registered respiratory therapists provide care for a wide variety of medical conditions. Our staff works with you to select the proper equipment, provides free delivery and assembles the prescribed respiratory equipment in your home. They educate and instruct each patient to ensure the safe, proper and continued use of the prescribed equipment.

Meriter Home Health offers many respiratory services, including:
  • CPAP – Continuous positive airway pressure systems
  • BiPAP Bi-level positive airway pressure systems
  • Home Ventilators Life-support systems for patients who need assistance with breathing
  • Portable and Stationary Oxygen Systems Highly advanced liquid and gas oxygen systems
  • Nebulizer Treatment Systems, Aerosol, Aspirators, etc. We supply many varieties of dependable respiratory care equipment
  • Pulse Oximeters Monitoring of patients performed by licensed therapists on doctor's orders
  • Apnea Monitors and Related Systems – Monitors for infant care

Home Infusion Therapy

Infusion therapy is available for patients who need to have physician-prescribed medication given through an intravenous, epidural or subcutaneous catheter. Our staff can begin and monitor many therapies, including:

  • Antibiotics
  • Chemotherapy
  • Hydration
  • Nutrition
  • Pain Control
Specialized nurses and pharmacists work closely with physicians to design a treatment program tailored to the patient's needs. Certified nurses are available for PICC line insertions, and Meriter Home Health has a home infusion professional on call 24 hours a day, 7 days per week.

Physical Therapy

Meriter Home Health's Physical Therapy program is directed by licensed Physical Therapists who are assisted by licensed Physical Therapist Assistants. Our program promotes independence and enhances patient's self-care skills.

Our staff plans and conducts home exercise/therapy programs to help patients function safely and independently in their homes. Standard therapies include:

  • Improving circulation and range of motion
  • Exercises
  • Heat and cold applications
  • Ultraviolet light treatments
  • Muscle strengthening
  • Mobility and endurance training

Occupational Therapy

Meriter Home Health's Occupational Therapy Program is directed by a registered Occupational Therapist, who is assisted by Certified Occupational Therapy Assistants. Our services help patients who have experienced a loss of functioning in daily activities. Our program promotes independence and enhances patients' self-care skills through improvement of:

  • Motor coordination
  • Perceptual motor skills
  • Visual and sensory skills
  • Range of motion and strength
  • Cognitive retention
  • Use of adaptive equipment

Speech Therapy

Meriter Home Health's Speech Language Therapists and Audiologists are specially trained to help patients regain their oral motor function and ability to communicate. Our staff helps patients:

  • Adjust to a loss of hearing
  • Work with voice problems
  • Understand oral and written language
  • Improve memory and cognitive problem solving
Our staff devises a treatment plan for each patient based on a detailed evaluation, in order maximize treatment benefits. A supportive atmosphere helps to promote individual patient progress.

Social Work Services

Meriter Home Health's licensed Clinical Social Workers assist patients in solving problems that may arise due to illness. Our staff works with the patient and/or caregiver to help patients in resolving:

  • Transportation problems
  • Home assistance needs
  • Housing and long-term care needs
Our staff can recommend many community services that are available to patients free of charge, at a nominal cost or through insurance coverage.

Home Health Aide

Meriter Home Health's Certified Nursing Assistants assist patients with daily activities and personal care. Our program provides services for patients that require assistance with activities of daily living in addition to skilled care. Services may include:

  • Bathing and personal hygiene
  • Improving a home's safety
  • Assisting patients with learning how to regain independence
Our staff has a thorough knowledge of each patients' physical and/or mental limitations, so they can provide safe, personalized care. Our services are coordinated with the patient's physician, our nursing staff and family members who are involved with the patient's care.
