Meriter Foundation
About the Foundation

Meriter Foundation is the charitable arm of Meriter Health Services, raising, receiving, investing, granting and stewarding gifts on behalf of Meriter Hospital.

In addition to raising money for programs, capital projects and benevolent care, the Foundation has a grant-making function, granting funds from existing assets to Meriter Hospital. This may include select community initiatives that have a direct link to one of these entities.

The Foundation holds more than 200 funds that are classified according to the wishes of our donors. These include funds that are:
  • Permanently restricted (endowments)
  • Temporarily restricted (to be used for a particular purpose or within a specific time frame)
  • Unrestricted (to be used where the need is greatest)
