Meriter's Commitment to Quality
Patient Services
Meriter's commitment to extraordinary service leads us to measure satisfaction through surveys and interviews of patients, families, physicians, employers and others who tell us about their experiences at Meriter.
Results say we do well when it comes to satisfying patients and others we survey; it also points out ways we can improve our service to them the next time around.
Meriter benchmarks itself against more than 700 hospitals nationwide by participating in NRC surveys.

HCAHPS - Data We Report
The Hospital Consumer Assessment of Healthcare Providers and Systems (HCAHPS), is a standardized survey tool introduced by the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS). Meriter remains committed to publicly sharing quality data related to clinical outcomes, patient safety and, now, patient experience. We recognize the value this information has in helping people make informed decisions about their health care.
CheckPoint - Data We Report
Meriter is proud to be one of 129 Wisconsin hospitals to voluntarily report clinical, safety and mortality data into the Wisconsin Hospital Association's CheckPoint Web site. The Wisconsin Hospital Association developed CheckPoint, a public reporting program that provides reliable data on:
- Interventions that medical experts agree should be taken to treat heart attacks, heart failure and pneumonia
- Surgical services measures that research indicates will lead to the best outcome for common procedures
- Error prevention measures
CheckPoint provides reliable information for decision making by consumers, purchasers and health care providers. To see Meriter's results, please visit the Meriter Hospital section of CheckPoint. You can also visit CheckPoint directly at www.wicheckpoint.org.
