Welcome to Meriter
I'm Meriter President and CEO, Jim Woodward. It is an honor to lead an organization dedicated to providing high-quality health care in South-Central Wisconsin.
As we continually look for ways to improve how we deliver health care, one thing won't change. You can continue to trust that we will focus on our mission and vision…
Meriter's Mission
To heal this day
To teach for tomorrow
To embrace excellence always
To serve our communities –
For a lifetime of quality health care.
Meriter's Vision
Meriter will be a fully integrated health system that exceeds the expectations of our patients and their families, our physician partners and the communities we serve.
2010 is going to be just as remarkable as 2009. We are entering an exciting stage of renewal in 2010, which includes:
- Improving patient access to primary and specialty care by growing the Meriter Medical Group. Currently the group consists of more than 70 providers.
- Remodeling and renovating our Birthing Center to serve 3,500 families each year. We are happy to inform you that Meriter has the second highest number of deliveries in the state of Wisconsin.
- Opening an Orthopedic Clinic in Middleton to serve patients with musculoskeletal problems by using non-surgical and surgical options to return patients to normal function as quickly and safely as possible. The clinic will be located in the same building as the Pediatrics Clinic.
- Opening a new Endoscopy Center in the hospital to provide a variety of services for patients that need treatment for conditions that often are found within the organs of the digestive system. The new Endoscopy Center will have six treatment rooms.
- Offering a Valet Parking service to patients and visitors. The service is available Monday through Friday from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m.
- Opening a Pediatric Center that will have eight beds and is designed to provide emergency, observation and inpatient care for children. The Pediatric Center will be located adjacent to the Emergency Department.
- Renewing our commitment as a not-for-profit hospital by providing essential community services that otherwise wouldn't be available in the region, such as the Max W. Pohle Dental Clinic, the Child & Adolescent Psychiatric Hospital and the Sexual Assault Nurse Examiner (SANE) Program.
- Continuing to develop the Heart & Vascular Hospital’s Women’s HeartCare Program - a comprehensive cardiovascular program designed especially for women, by women.
I'm pleased to report that 2009 was an extraordinary year. Among our accomplishments, we:
- Opened our third medical clinic, Meriter – West Washington, to provide primary and specialty care to patients. The West Washington clinic has a diabetic care team to help patients understand how diabetes affects their health.
- Constructed new, state-of-the-art Operating Rooms that contain the latest technology for patients who have a surgical procedure.
- Received the 2009 Gold Annual Performance Award for “Get with the Guidelines” by the American Heart Association and American Stroke Association for Coronary Artery Disease (CAD). The performance-award-winning hospitals are recognized for 12 consecutive months at 85% or higher adherence to all performance measures.
- Earned the Gold Seal of Approval from The Joint Commission for Primary Stroke Centers. The certification underscores the hospital’s commitment to providing quality, comprehensive care to its stroke patients.
- Opened our fourth medical clinic, Pediatrics Clinic, in Middleton to serve our patients that are 18 years old or younger. The clinic offers extended hours, easy access to appointments and an excellent care team of five board-certified pediatricians.
- Engaged our patients and community audience in the Meriter experience by using social media. Visit Meriter’s Facebook and Twitter Web page.
