Our patients want to go home…and that's our number one goal.
Your gift to the Area of Greatest Need will provide support to the priorities and needs of the Meriter Hospital. Our focus is on creating a comfortable care environment, so our patients can go home sooner.
Over the next five years, Meriter will transform almost every patient room and care area of the hospital. Private rooms and more family spaces mixed with high-tech diagnostics and treatment will provide patients with added comfort while increasing the efficiency of our staff. Our patients want to go home, and, quite simply, that's our number one goal.
The Orthopedic & Neuroscience Center of Excellence provides patients with a healing environment in both outpatient and inpatient settings and continues to implement program enhancements. In 2010, plans include introducing a new total hip replacement option - anterior approach - that is less invasive, leads to markedly faster patient recovery time and does not require restrictive hip precautions like traditional total hip surgeries do.
The Center also plans to introduce an orthopedic care navigator to its patient care team. This person will help guide patients through all phases of an orthopedic surgery experience, from pre-surgical education and planning through recovery.
A lifetime of care… every step of the way.
Your support of the Women's Pavilion at Meriter Hospital will enhance our programs and services for women at different stages in their lives. Our focus is on wellness and preventative care – from prenatal care to reducing the risk of heart disease in women.
High-tech cardiac care… close to home.
Meriter Hospital has been a leader in cardiac care for decades. Your gift to Cardiovascular Services will benefit research and education, technology upgrades and equipment needs vital to the care of patients with heart and vascular diseases.
Our streamlined network of nurses, ER doctors, cardiologists, diagnostic technicians, and cardiovascular surgeons work together to provide life-saving care.
Meriter's Heart & Vascular Hospital cares for over 30,000 patients annually.
Continuing a commitment to nursing…now and into the future.
Your support of the Center for Nursing Excellence at Meriter Hospital will enhance the environment of nursing by supporting continuing education, leadership training, clinical research and creation of a skills lab. As the largest component of the health care workforce, nurses play a central role in patient safety and healthcare quality.
The Center for Nursing Excellence promotes innovation in clinical nursing care that directly benefits our patients and their families.
A safe place…not far from home.
Your support of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry at Meriter Hospital helps provide a full range of inpatient mental health services and programs for teens and children.
Children have unique mental health issues, and they respond to treatment differently than adults. Patients of the program learn new ways to approach their individual challenges and work with therapists, psychologist and psychiatrists to regain their lives.
A leader in birthing services… right in your backyard.
The birth of a child should be full of joy and excitement, but when infants are born too soon, with life-threatening complications, the anticipation can quickly become anxious worry.
A gift to Newborn Intensive Care at Meriter benefits the care of our tiniest patients. This fund supports research and education projects, staff training, and technology and equipment upgrades.
Innovative solutions…focused on patient care.
The new surgery unit will be double the size of Meriter's current operating room space and will feature ceiling-mounted booms that house patient monitors and anesthesia supplies. These devices offer surgeons more maneuverability and greater efficiency in positioning instruments during surgery. Visit our Making a Gift section to learn about the different ways to make a gift to this fund.
