The Max W. Pohle Dental Clinic

The Max W. Pohle Dental Clinic offers comprehensive dental care for patients in Madison and the surrounding communities. Located in Meriter Hospital, the dental clinic has ready access to physician consultation and laboratory, x-ray and social service departments. The Dental Clinic also provides a General Practice Residency for dental school graduates through the General Practice Residency in Dentistry.

The clinic is accredited by the American Dental Association, and approved by the Wisconsin Department of Health and Social Services. It provides services in the following areas:

• Endodontics (root canal therapy)
• Oral and maxillofacial surgery
• Pedodontics (children's dentistry)
• Orthodontics (moving teeth)
• Prosthodontics (artificial teeth)
• Periodontics (treatment of gums and supporting bones)
• Caring for patients with special needs
• Treating patients under general anesthesia in the operating room

Special Services

At the Dental Clinic, our primary focus is on patients whose medical conditions give them unique dental needs. Special services are available for persons who are:

• Emotionally or developmentally disabled
• Neurologically impaired
• Receiving care for acute/chronic medical conditions
• Uncooperative in a traditional dental setting

Dental Clinic Staff

The Max W. Pohle Dental Clinic is staffed by the faculty and residents of the Advanced Training Program in Dentistry at Meriter Hospital. Patients are treated by a staff dentist or by dental residents who are qualified graduate dentists receiving advanced training under the direct supervision of teaching staff.

Insurance/Payment

It's always a good idea to check your insurance coverage before receiving services. If you have questions, please contact your insurance carrier directly. On your first visit, please bring your insurance card with you. If you have no insurance coverage, financial arrangements and payment plans are available through the Meriter Business Office.
