Dr. DopfMeriter's mission is:
to heal this day
to teach for tomorrow
to embrace excellence always
to serve our communities -
for a lifetime of quality health care.

Heal…teach…embrace…excellence…serve… Meriter's mission reflects our 108-year history of dedication to the people in Madison, Dane County and south-central Wisconsin.

As a not-for-profit organization, Meriter is governed by a board of directors composed of area health, business, civic and social service leaders. Their direction and decisions guide our commitment to your health and well-being, and help us determine the best way to "reinvest" income we generate that is greater than our expenses. The board's leadership also ensures that we maintain ethical practices that are in the best interest of our community.

The information shared in the pages listed above is consistent with our belief that consumers need access to facts that can help them make informed health care decisions, and that organizations such as ours are accountable for providing such data. In some areas of performance we are at national-best levels. Still, we continue to strive to improve in all areas of our care.

Please visit the pages above for a variety of quality indicators, some updated on a quarterly basis. It's information that will help you understand why Meriter is our area's community hospital and healthcare resource.
